PORTLAND, OR — A man remains hospitalized three weeks after being struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle in north Portland, according to KATU2.
The incident occurred near the intersection of North Killingsworth Street and North Minnesota Avenue on December 20, at about 10:30 p.m.
Portland Police said the man was riding a bike down the road when he was hit by an unknown vehicle. Officers arrived on the scene to find the victim with severe injuries.
He was rushed to an area hospital, where he has since undergone a procedure to relieve pressure on his brain after suffering two brain bleeds. He is also recovering from a “broken neck, femur, and ankle.”
It is unclear at this time how much longer the patient will have to be hospitalized, but his family believes he won’t be able to return home until the end of the year.
As of this writing, authorities continue to search for the hit-and-run driver.
