On July 18, head-on crash killed a man from Bend. A white 2005 Jeep Liberty was going south on Highway 97, drove onto the southbound shoulder. The driver overcorrected and spun into the northbound lane. He struck a 2014 Dodge Ram, driven by was Clarence Noblet, 55 and his passenger, Laraine Noblet, also 55. The driver of the Jeep died upon impact. His name has been withheld until the next of kin can be notified. The occupants of the van were taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.
Police responded to a car crash on Highway 224 in Clackamas County when Buick Lesabre, driven by Violet Sullivan, 88, was going west on Highway 224 when she turned left in front of a motorcycle, driven by Russell Nelson, 65. Unfortunately, Mr. Nelson was killed at the scene of the accident.
On July 14 at 2:30 AM Chevrolet Malibu driven by Jesse Butler, 30, was going east on Highway 30. The vehicle did not negotiate a left curve and smashed through the guardrail. The car rolled several times, went 200 feet, and slammed into a utility pole. The driver was ejected from the Malibu and died. The passenger, Travis Culbertson, 36, also died.
On July 11 at 3:30 pm, a two-vehicle car accident occurred on Highway 211 near South Mackburg Road in Clackamas County near Molalla that killed two.
On July 2, a tip led Police to a home in Klamath Falls where troopers found a 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe that is thought to be the vehicle that killed a man on June 15. Troopers identified the driver as Alizabeth Witheril (20) of Klamath Falls as the driver of the SUV that struck the man. She was placed under arrest for failure to perform duties of a driver to injured persons (hit and run) and tampering with physical evidence.
A 69-year-old woman who was struck by a driver as she was walking in South Berkeley just before 6 pm on May 4 was left in critical condition.
