On August 20 Police responded to a crash on Highway 126. A 2011 Toyota Venza, driving by Kenneth Vaughan, was going west on Highway 126 when it drove off the road and hit a large pile of rocks. Tragically Vaughan and his two passengers died.
Portland Police is investigating an August 18th accident at Southwest Broadway & Southwest Yamhill Street. The accident involved an electric scooter and a bicyclist. Police are investigating a fatal auto and tractor-trailer accident that occurred on July 11. The police reported there was a serious accident on Highway 228 in Linn County near milepost 2.5 on July 11 at 1:40 PM. The investigation showed that a Jeep Cherokee driven by Michael McDaniel, 69, was going west on Highway 228 when it drifted over the center line and slammed into a Kenworth tractor-trailer. The truck was driven by Bradley Crowson, 48. McDaniel was killed at the scene, and the truck driver also was injured.
On July 18, head-on crash killed a man from Bend. A white 2005 Jeep Liberty was going south on Highway 97, drove onto the southbound shoulder. The driver overcorrected and spun into the northbound lane. He struck a 2014 Dodge Ram, driven by was Clarence Noblet, 55 and his passenger, Laraine Noblet, also 55. The driver of the Jeep died upon impact. His name has been withheld until the next of kin can be notified. The occupants of the van were taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.
Police responded to a car crash on Highway 224 in Clackamas County when Buick Lesabre, driven by Violet Sullivan, 88, was going west on Highway 224 when she turned left in front of a motorcycle, driven by Russell Nelson, 65. Unfortunately, Mr. Nelson was killed at the scene of the accident.
