Serious Pedestrian Accident with Injury, Adult with Child in SE Portland, Again


On Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at 5:38 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to the report of pedestrians struck by a driver in the area of 800 block of Southeast 122nd Avenue. Officers learned that a young child and an adult were crossing the street when they were struck by a van. Police officers discovered that an adult and a young child were crossing a street when a van struck them. Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and gave aid to both injured. Both sustained life-threatening injuries and were taken to a local hospital by ambulance. Emergency medical personnel arrived on the scene and rendered aid to the injured persons. Both victims are believed to have sustained critical-life-threatening injuries and were transported to an area hospital by ambulance. The driver of the van remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. The driver was not injured during the crash.
