PORTLAND, OR -Two people were sent to the hospital following a wrong-way crash on I-5 early this morning.
According to a report by KOIN, the crash occurred when the driver of a Toyota Avalon was heading south in the northbound lanes of the interstate near Terwilliger Boulevard and crashed head-on into a semi-truck.
Both occupants of the Toyota were taken to a nearby hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the semi was unhurt.
It is unclear at this time why the Toyota was going the wrong way. However, investigators say impairment may have been a factor.
