LA GRANDE, OR – A man from Portland was killed when a semi-driver struck his vehicle on I-84 Wednesday morning.
According to KATU, Brian Burton, 59, of Portland was stopped on the interstate due to a previous crash in the eastbound lanes. A driver in a semi-truck came around a curve and was unable to stop and slammed into the stopped vehicle.
Burton was pronounced dead at the scene.
30-year-old Eddie Morales, the driver of the semi, was uninjured in the crash.
The accident remains under investigation. Police say road conditions and speeding may have been contributing factors.
