PORTLAND, OR – An elderly man was fatally struck by an SUV while crossing the street in Tigard last Saturday evening.
According to a report by KPTV, 82-year-old Procoro Hidalgo-Lazaro, of Tigard was crossing Southwest Gaarde Street, just west of the Pacific Highway when he was hit by a Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Hidalgo-Lazaro was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say he was not in a designated crosswalk when the incident occurred.
The Jeep’s driver, an unidentified 62-year-old woman, stayed at the scene. It is unclear at this time if she will face any charges.
