DOUGLAS COUNTY, OR — A 39-year-old Portland man was hospitalized early Tuesday evening after a motorcycle accident near northwest Yoncalla, according to KQEN News Radio.
The wreck took place in the 7800 block of Hayhurst Road, near WWD Quarry, shortly after 4:30 p.m.
Few details have been shared at this time, but the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said the man had borrowed the motorcycle from a friend before the crash.
The rider suffered an apparent broken leg and was rushed by ambulance to Springfield’s PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend. As of Wednesday morning, the patient remained in serious condition.
Officials said the motorcycle, which was totaled in the collision, has since been released to the owner.
