PORTLAND, OR — Firefighters had to extricate one person who was left trapped Tuesday after a crash on West Burnside Road in northwest Portland, reports KATU2.

The accident occurred near the Northwest Barnes Road intersection, in the city’s West Hills area. Crew members with Portland Fire and Rescue responded to the scene under snowy weather conditions.

Authorities have not disclosed the cause of the wreck, but a vehicle traveled off the roadway and collided with a tree. The impact of the crash left one passenger pinned inside.

After firefighters were able to safely remove the trapped passenger, the patient was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The driver was reported OK, according to crews.
