WASHINGTON COUNTY, OR — Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue crews responded to a multi-vehicle crash Tuesday morning involving on Interstate 5 in Tualatin, according to KATU2.
The accident occurred on the northbound interstate near Lower Boones Ferry Road. It was first reported shortly before 5:49 a.m.
A TVF&R Public Information Officer said a driver traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of I-5 caused a crash involving six vehicles. One of those vehicles included a tractor-trailer that jackknifed and overturned while as its driver tried to avoid hitting the wrong-way car. Authorities said a foot of standing water in the area may have also played a role in the wreck.
Firefighters were able to quickly remove the truck driver from the rolled tractor-trailer, but it was unclear whether the patient was seriously hurt.
A section of I-5 northbound was blocked during the emergency response. No further information has been shared at this time.
