PORTLAND, OR — One person died late Tuesday night after being struck by a vehicle on Southeast Powell Boulevard in southeast Portland, reports KOIN 6 News.
The fatal incident took place near the intersection with Southwest Foster Road. Officers with the Portland Police Bureau responded to the scene at about 10:15 p.m.
At this time, the circumstances behind the event have not been disclosed to the public, but the victim, who was administered medical treatment at the scene, later died from their injuries.
Authorities said the driver remained at the site and cooperated with investigators. At this time, no pending charges have been reported.
A section of Southeast Powell Boulevard was blocked from Southeast 49th Avenue to Southeast 51st Avenue during the response and investigation.
