PORTLAND, OR — One person died Wednesday night after a pedestrian crash on Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in north Portland, according to KOIN 6 News.
The fatal incident occurred at the intersection with Northeast Halleck Street, in the city’s Piedmont neighborhood. Portland Police responded to the scene shortly before 6:40 p.m.
It was not immediately clear what led up to the wreck, but officers and first responders arrived to find the victim deceased at the scene.
The driver of the striking vehicle remained at the site and cooperated with investigators. No charges have been reported as of this writing.
A section of Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard was blocked off as authorities conducted an investigation.
