MARION COUNTY, OR — A 67-year-old woman died late Tuesday afternoon after a two-vehicle accident in southeast Salem, according to KATU.

The fatal crash happened at the intersection of Hawthorne Avenue and State Street Northeast at about 4:10 p.m.

Salem Police said the woman was driving a Ford Fiesta and was turning onto Hawthorne Avenue from State Street when the Ford collided head-on with a Chevrolet Camaro.

The driver of the Ford, a Salem resident, died from her injuries at the scene.

Authorities said the driver of the Camaro, a 20-year-old also of Salem, stayed at the scene and cooperated with an initial investigation.

No arrests or charges have been made, and no citations have been issued at this time.

The Salem Police Department continues to investigate.
