PORTLAND, OR — Three people were injured, two seriously, Tuesday evening due to a two-vehicle wreck in northwest Portland, reports KOIN 6 News.
Authorities said the accident happened at Northwest Yeon Avenue and Northwest 35th Avenue, just before 7:00 p.m. Crews with Portland Fire & Rescue responded to the scene shortly after.
Details remain limited, but PF&R said one vehicle traveled past the center line and struck another vehicle. One vehicle was left with heavy front-end damage while the rear end of the other appeared to have been smashed in and as the vehicle was sent into a fence.
An off-duty Scappoose Fire Chief was able to stop and begin rendering aid to the victims before first responders arrived.
According to fire officials, two occupants of one vehicle were not wearing seat belts and were both ejected in the crash. They were rushed to an area hospital with serious injuries.
An occupant in the other involved vehicle suffered minor injuries, but it was unclear whether they had to be taken to a hospital.
