PORTLAND, OR — Two people were sent to a hospital Thursday morning after a driver crashed a Tesla through a business in Portland’s Kerns neighborhood, reports KPTV.

Portland Fire Rescue crews were called to the scene ear Northeast Couch Street and 10th Avenue.

Officials did not say what caused the incident, but the Tesla slammed through a glass wall before pinning and trapping a woman behind her desk.

Firefighters were able to safely extricate the woman, who was then taken to an area hospital as a precautionary measure. PFR said the patient’s injuries are not considered serious.

One other person who was struck by building debris during the crash was also taken to the hospital for an evaluation.

It remains unclear at this time whether any charges are expected to be filed against the driver, who was not reported hurt.

An investigation remains in progress.
