BEAVERTON, OR – Two people died and four others were sent to the hospital after a collision in west Beaverton early this morning.

According to KPTV, the crash took place when the driver of a Nissan ran the red light at Southwest Tualatin Valley Highway and Southwest Murray Boulevard shortly before 12:30 p.m. The Nissan then slammed into a Washington County Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle as it was traveling through the intersection.

Two occupants of the Nissan, both juniors at Southridge High School, were pronounced dead at the scene. Three other occupants and the sheriff’s deputy were taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
