PORTLAND, OR – One man was killed and another is facing charges following a wrong-way crash on I-5 late Sunday night.
According to a report by The Oregonian, the collision took place when one vehicle was heading south in the northbound lanes of the freeway near I-405 and crashed head-on into an oncoming vehicle.
The driver of the northbound vehicle suffered fatal injuries in the crash. He has since been identified as 34-year-old Salvador Manuel Rodriguez-Lopez.
The man believed to be responsible for the crash, 40-year-old Amr Elzagh, was sent to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He is now facing charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants, manslaughter, and possibly more.
