YAMHILL COUNTY, OR — Four people were hurt, one critically, Saturday afternoon in a multi-vehicle wreck on Highway 99W near Newberg, reports KATU.
Members of Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue responded to the scene at Northeast Corral Creek Road, northeast of the city, shortly before 1:10 p.m.
The circumstances behind the accident remain unclear, but officials said three vehicles were involved, and at least one vehicle caught fire as a result.
Firefighters were able to control the flames and extricate one person who was trapped in the wreckage. That person suffered serious injuries and was rushed to a local hospital. Three other patients were also transported to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries but have since been released.
Officials have not disclosed further information at this time.
