CLACKAMAS COUNTY, OR — Two people, including a child, died Sunday night after a vehicle went down an embankment in an unincorporated area of Clackamas County, reports KOIN 6 News.

The fatal accident occurred off South Dryland Road, near Canby. Deputies with the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene at around 5:00 p.m. after receiving a call about a fiery crash and three occupants trapped in the vehicle.

An initial investigation indicates a pickup truck traveled down an embankment from the roadway’s east side. Significant front-end damage suggests the pickup collided with a large tree before leaving the road.

An adult and child occupant were pronounced deceased on the scene. A third occupant, confirmed to be another child, survived the crash and was rushed to an area hospital. No information on their condition has been disclosed.

An investigation remains ongoing.
