PORTLAND, OR — A girl was hospitalized Tuesday evening after being struck by a vehicle in north Portland’s Humboldt neighborhood, according to KOIN 6 News.
The incident took place in the area of North Commercial Avenue and North Killingsworth Street, just north of Jefferson High School. It was first reported shortly before 7:00 p.m.
Few details have been released, but the Portland Police Bureau said a 59-year-old man was behind the wheel of a vehicle that hit the child pedestrian.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries not considered traumatic, confirmed officials.
The driver, who stayed at the scene until authorities arrived, was arrested and booked into Multnomah County Jail. According to the PPB, he faces multiple charges, including driving under the influence of intoxicants (DUII), reckless driving, and vehicular assault.
