PORTLAND, OR — A woman in her 40s died late Tuesday morning after being struck by a semi-truck while riding a bicycle in southeast Portland, reports KGW8.
The fatal incident took place at the corner of Southeast Powell Boulevard and 26th Avenue, in an area between Grover Cleveland High School and Powell Park. It was first reported at around 11:49 a.m.
Few details have been released at this time, but the Portland Police Bureau said the female cyclist was killed in the crash.
The driver of the semi remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
A section of Southeast Powell Boulevard was shut down in the area during the emergency response and investigation.
Shortly before 3:30 p.m., almost four hours later, the road was reopened to the public.
