BENTON COUNTY, OR — A 44-year-old Corvallis man died last Thursday, October 27, after a crash involving a parked dump truck in a Monroe construction zone, reports KATU.

The fatal wreck occurred near the corner of Alpine Road and Bellfountain Road, in the northwest area of the city.

According to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, the man was driving a 2005 Subaru eastbound on Alpine Road when the car traveled into a construction zone. After failing to stop for a flagger who was holding a stop sign, the male driver crashed the Subaru into the back of a Benton County Department dump truck that was parked within the zone.

The Corvallis man died as a result of his injuries, confirmed officials.
