MARION COUNTY, OR — One person died early Friday after a single-vehicle crash on Lancaster Drive Northeast near northeast Salem, according to KATU2.

The fatal collision took place at the intersection with Auburn Road Northeast, in the Four Corners area. Deputies with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene just after 3:00 a.m.

Officials have not disclosed the cause of the wreck, but the driver and sole occupant of the car was pronounced deceased at the site.

A section of Lancaster Drive Northeast from Center Street Northeast to Auburn Road Northeast was blocked off in both directions, and was expected to stay closed for an extended time. Motorists were asked to find alternate routes.
