COLUMBIA COUNTY, OR — At least one person died Monday morning after a collision on U.S. Highway 30, about six miles west of Rainier, according to KPTV.
Oregon State Police said the fatal accident caused a section of the highway between Clatskanie and Rainier to close for multiple hours. It was first reported by the Oregon Department of Transportation at 8:41 a.m.
The circumstances behind the crash were not immediately clear, but authorities confirmed one person died as a result of their injuries.
Commuters were advised to find alternate routes as first responders worked to clear the scene.
