CLARK COUNTY, OR — A 45-year-old burglary suspect was arrested Thursday night crashing his car off Northwest Pacific Highway in La Center, according to KPTV.

The collision occurred near West 10th Street, shortly after Ridgefield Police and Clark County deputies responded to a burglary at a residence at around 7:30 p.m.

Authorities said a neighborhood who witnessed the theft tried to follow the suspect but later gave up do to the suspect’s reckless driving. Shortly after, dispatchers received a call about a silver sedan that had crashed off NW Pacific Highway, and a man seen walking away from the scene.

Shortly before 9:00 p.m. that same night, a deputy was able to apprehend the suspect, who had at that time been identified by authorities. The suspect was booked into Clark County Jail on multiple charges, most of which are burglary-related.
