DESCHUTES COUNTY, OR — A 31-year-old man died Monday morning after a single-car rollover wreck on U.S. Highway 97 in southwest Bend, reports KPTV.

The fatal accident was reported on the northbound highway near Exit 151 to Cottonwood Road. Oregon State Patrol troopers arrived on the scene at around 7:45 a.m.

An early investigation shows the man was driving a 2005 Toyota 4Runner northbound when he lost control of the vehicle over the icy roadway. The vehicle slid off the highway and flipped multiple times before coming to a rest.

The male driver was pronounced deceased at the scene, confirmed officials.

No further details have been shared at this time, but the emergency response and initial investigation caused delays in the area for about four hours.
