PORTLAND, OR — A 54-year-old man has been identified as the driver who died Friday night after a crash with a tractor-trailer in northeast Portland, reports KOIN 6 News.
The fatal accident occurred in the 4700 block of Northeast Marine Drive, along Broughton Beach and north of Portland International Airport. First responders were called to the scene shortly after 8:30 p.m.
According to Portland Police Bureau, a deputy witnessed a car traveling at high speeds before it sideswiped a big rig and ran off the side of the roadway and off an embankment.
The male driver was pronounced deceased at the scene, confirmed officials. No other injuries were reported in the collision.
