PORTLAND, OR — A man died Tuesday night after being struck by a semi-truck on Oregon Highway 99E in north Portland’s East Columbia neighborhood, reports KOIN 6 News.

Portland Police Bureau officers responded to a span of the highway (Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard) at North Marine Drive, shortly before 9:45 p.m.

Officers arrived to find the victim deceased on the scene.

The driver of the semi stayed after the crash and cooperated with investigators.

A section of North Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard was blocked at North Gertz during the emergency response. A southbound offramp from Interstate 5 to the road was also closed.
