CLACKAMAS COUNTY, OR — One person died Tuesday morning after their motorcycle collided with a delivery van near Wilsonville, according to FOX 12 Oregon.
Deputies with the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene in the 13500 block of Southwest Wilsonville Road shortly after 10:00 a.m.
A preliminary investigation indicates the victim was riding a Yamaha motorcycle when they tried to pass traffic on the westbound roadway in a no-passing zone. Moments later, the motorcycle struck a Nissan delivery van that was pulling into a driveway.
Witnesses called to alert authorities that the rider was pinned under the van and appeared to not be breathing.
Officials said the rider was pronounced deceased on the scene.
The driver of the van, who was not reported hurt, remained at the scene and cooperated with an investigation.
Multiple agencies, including Wilsonville Police Department, Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, and American Medical Response, assisted at the scene.
