PORTLAND, OR – According to KPTV News, a motorcyclist was seriously injured after a crash involving a Portland police vehicle in Portland on Tuesday.

Authorities say the crash took place shortly after 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of Southeast 92nd Avenue and Southeast Holgate Boulevard. Witnesses report that the police vehicle, with its sirens and emergency lights activated, was making a turn onto the westbound lanes of SE Holgate Boulevard from 92nd Avenue at the time of the crash. The motorcyclist was positioned in the eastbound left turn lane of SE Holgate Boulevard, stopped at a red arrow, when the motorcycle and the police vehicle collided at the intersection.

The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries in the impact and was transported to a local hospital’s trauma unit for treatment.

Police continue to investigate this incident.
