HOOD RIVER COUNTY, OR — A collision involving up to 24 vehicles Sunday closed part of Oregon State Highway 35 near Mount Hood Meadows, according to KATU.
The accident happened over a span of OR-35 about six miles east of the intersection with US Highway 26 in south Mount Hood. Authorities said the closure caused a traffic backup on US-26 for motorists traveling back toward Portland.
Little information has been released at this time, but the Oregon Department of Transportation indicated 20 to 24 vehicles were involved in the crash.
Delays lingered in the area as crews arrived on the scene with sanding and tow trucks to clear the accident.
It was not immediately clear whether anyone was seriously injured.
