PORTLAND, OR — One person died Saturday night after being hit by a vehicle in northeast Portland’s Wilkes Community Group neighborhood, reports KGW8.
The Portland Police Bureau said the fatal incident occurred at the corner of Northeast Sandy Boulevard and Northeast 162nd Avenue at about 6:30 p.m.
It was unclear what led up to the event, but the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
A section of Northeast Sandy Boulevard was blocked off for an extended time. An investigation into the cause of the crash was being handled by the PPB’s Major Crash Team.
