News: Fleeing driver injured in crash on OR-18 near Newberg

YAMHILL COUNTY, OR — One person was injured Monday evening in a vehicle crash while fleeing police on Oregon Route 18 near southeast Newberg, reports KATU2.

Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue crews responded to the scene near the intersection with Northeast St. Paul Highway at around 7:45 p.m.

Authorities said the victim was trying to drive away from officers when the wreck occurred.

By 8:30 p.m., medics had flown the patient to a local hospital. At this time, the extent of their injuries has not been disclosed.

No further information has been provided as of this writing.
