WASHINGTON COUNTY, OR — Six people were hospitalized Saturday night after a collision involving a wrong-way driver on Oregon Route 99W near Sherwood, reports KPTV.
The wreck took place on a stretch of the highway north of Southwest Langer Farms Parkway at about 9:45 p.m.
A preliminary investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office indicates one car was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes when it collided head-on with another vehicle.
Six people suffered undisclosed injuries and were all transported to an area hospital.
Officials said criminal charges are pending against the wrong-way driver, who at the time of the crash was found to have a blood alcohol content of 0.19, more than twice Oregon’s legal limit.
An investigation remains ongoing.
