WASHINGTON COUNTY, OR — A 52-year-old Wilsonville man died Saturday evening after a single-vehicle rollover wreck near northwest Sherwood, according to KGW8.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene on Southwest Scholls-Sherwood Road, near Southwest Stark Road, at about 7:20 p.m.
A witness told authorities they saw the victim’s BMW SUV traveling at more than 90 miles per hour before the vehicle veered into the opposing traffic lane. The vehicle then slammed into a ditch and overturned.
Officials confirmed the driver and sole occupant of the SUV died from his injuries at the scene.
The cause of the fatal wreck remains unclear at this time, but an investigation by the WCSO’s Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team (CART) remains ongoing.
