WASHINGTON COUNTY, OR — A 31-year-old Timber resident died Tuesday after a wrong-way crash that injured another person on U.S. Highway 26 near North Plains, reports KOIN 6 News.
Oregon State Police were called to the scene on the westbound lanes near milepost 54, before the exit to Northwest Dersham Road. Dispatchers first received the call at about 3:00 p.m.
Authorities said the Timber resident was driving a Hyundai Sonata eastbound on the westbound highway when the Sonata hit a Toyota Rav4 head-on.
The driver of the Sonata died from their injuries at the scene, confirmed OSP.
The driver of the Rav4, a Seaside resident, was airlifted to an area hospital. No updates on their condition have been disclosed.
An investigation was in progress.
