PORTLAND, OR – A woman died early Monday after being hit by a vehicle near Lents Park in southeast Portland, according to KATU2.
The fatal incident occurred at the corner of Southeast Holgate Boulevard and Southeast 92nd Avenue, northeast of Walker Stadium. Officers with the Portland Police Bureau responded to the scene just after 3:00 a.m.
Authorities have not disclosed the sequence of events leading up to the crash, but the woman was found suffering from injuries at the scene. She was rushed to an area hospital where she later died.
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the PPB’s Major Crash Team. At this time, no charges have been reported.
A section of Southeast Holgate Boulevard from Southeast 92nd Avenue and Southeast 91st Avenue was blocked off during the response and initial investigation.
