YAMHILL COUNTY, OR — A 67-year-old man died Tuesday morning after a collision on Oregon State Highway 18 near east McMinnville, reports KATU2.

The fatal accident occurred near milepost 48, west of Southeast Cirrus Avenue to McMinnville Municipal Airport. It was first reported at about 6:45 a.m.

According to Oregon State Police, the man was driving a Datsun pickup truck when he lost control of the vehicle over the icy roadway. The pickup slid into the opposing lane, where it was T-bone by a Subaru.

The driver of the Datsun was pronounced deceased at the scene, confirmed officials.

Medics transported the driver of the Subaru to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries.

A section of OR-18 was blocked for nearly three hours during the response and investigation.
