PORTLAND, OR — Two people were hospitalized early Tuesday after a suspected DUI crash on Interstate 405 near Portland State University, reports KATU2.

Portland Police responded to the scene on the northbound lanes at Exit 1C to Southwest 6th Avenue. The wreck was first reported at around 1:45 a.m.

Officials said one vehicle was traveling against traffic when it collided with another vehicle.

Both drivers were transported to a local hospital with “trauma injuries.” No updates on their conditions have been released at this time.

An investigation remains underway, but speed is believed to have been a factor. Investigators also noted both drivers appeared to have been intoxicated at the time of the crash.
