PORTLAND, OR – A 59-year-old man was killed after his wheelchair slipped off the curb and into the path of a semi-truck in Portland Friday night.
Police found Raymond McWilliams deceased in the roadway intersection of NE Vancouver Way and Gertz Road.
They believe he was riding along the sidewalk when one of the wheels slipped, causing him to fall in the roadway. The driver of the semi-truck did not stop and it’s not clear whether they are aware the incident happened.
An investigation into the fatal crash is underway.
